Steve Hixenbaugh - Office of President Elect

Thanks all for considering me for the position of President Elect. As some of you know it is a time commitment and time consuming position which requires some patience and knowledge of our industry and markets and I will do my best to see that we continue in the upward motion that the previous Board of Directors have taken us. And I will keep all of you in mind when making any important decisions along with the help of our excellent staff, other directors and all the other officers. Since we are part of one of the largest and most active boards in the North State we do have a lot of influence and our actions need to be taken seriously. We have a great staff that all of them have been in the industry a long time and are very good at what they do to give us a hand.

There are a lot of challenges and sometimes even obstacles that need to be thoughtfully worked through and I take that as a challenge to see that we work them out properly and make sure the board makes the right choices along the way. As some of you know I also like to enhance our working relationships and strive to keep the standards of ethics up were it needs to be and make sure we all know what is ethical and good for the whole.

I have lived in Shasta County since 1978 and have raised my family here.  I previously owned my own business in the automotive repair industry for 19 years and have been in Real Estate full time since 2003. Have seen some really good times and some not so good but made it through with some persistence and hard work like most of you. I have worked on several committee's over those years, have been a director for the last few years thanks to you guys and have been to Sacramento a few times to see how CAR works and see how we can actually influence our legislature.

So I would appreciate your vote this time for President Elect and promise to be available to listen to any and all your concerns and will take your suggestions seriously to the board for consideration.

Patte Jelavich - Office of Treasurer/Secretary

Patte has been a REALTOR and member of the Shasta Association of REALTORS since 1979.  During her first decade in the business she served as Chairperson of the Grievance Committee, on the Board of Directors, as Treasurer of the Shasta Association and as a California Association of REALTORS State Director.

Following that period she served on and chaired the MLS Committee and has continually served on the Professional Standards Panel in years since.  In addition to Professional Standards, she currently is a member of the Finance and Legislative Committees.

During the majority of her career Patte has been a local library activist; participating on every board, panel, and committee committed to a long term solution to preserve library services in Shasta County.  Her involvement culminated in Shasta County receiving a Library Grant award in excess of 13 million dollars for library construction.  In the past decade she also served a number of terms as Chairperson of Shasta Library Foundation and on the citizens committee overseeing the construction of the new Redding Library which opened in 2007.  Since 2007 she served two terms on the Library Advisory Committee, including a stint as Chairperson.

An opportunity to once again serve the Association is a challenge Patte would welcome.  The real estate industry is experiencing unprecedented times and the involvement of those wishing to preserve the integrity of the business is critical.  Electing someone to the office of Treasurer, who thoroughly understands out trade, works and trains in it full time, and has learned much from involvement on other boards outside our industry, would provide a fresh perspective and new energy.  Patte would appreciate your vote and thanks you for your consideration of her candidacy.

Sandy Mays  - Office of Treasurer/Secretary

I have been a real estate broker since 1974, and an active member of our Association since that time.

I have served on every Association committee and served as Chair of Grievance, Professional Standards, MLS, Education, Orientation, Programs, and others, as well as teaching Ethics classes for other Boards.

I was honored to serve as Association President in 1996 and Treasurer for three years.  In addition, I received the "REALTOR® of the Year" award in 1991, and a Presidential Award in 2002 and 2008.

I have been a C.A.R. Director for 13 years and the Regional Chair of District 2 in 2001, covering nine Associations.  At C.A.R., I served as Vice-Chair North of Rural Forum and as a Regional Representative for Professional Standards, Consumer Education, MLS Committee, Property Management Committee, Membership Committee, and Nominating Committee.

As a N.A.R. Director, I traveled to various states representing our Association for three years, voting on those issues that would affect our ability to sell real estate in Shasta County and the North State.

I was Regional President for Red Carpet Real Estate Services covering California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada, and an International Director for National Real Estate Services traveling on the behalf of REALTORS® for those states.

I have been a resident of Shasta Hills since 2001, when I built my home there with my late husband Larry. I really enjoy our community and take pride in being a part of it.

I would appreciate the opportunity to serve the Association's membership once again and welcome your vote for 2017 Treasurer/Secretary.

Connie Metcalf – Office of Treasurer/Secretary

I have been a member of the Shasta Association of REALTORS since 2000. Through these years, I have served on the Grievance, Finance, Legislative, Pro-Standards, Core Standards, Education and Bylaws committees, and have served as the Chairperson for the Grievance, Pro-Standards, Finance, Education and most recently Bylaws committee as well as serving as your Treasurer in the past. I am looking forward to serving as your Treasurer once again in 2017 to represent all of the agents in Shasta County as well as continue to improve the Associations outstanding reputation.

I have been actively involved with The American Heart Associations' Go Red for Women campaign, and served as Chairperson for 2 of those 8 years.  Similarly, I am active with The American Cancer Society's Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk, and have served as Chairperson for 2 of the past 5 years.  I am also an active member of Soroptimist International, serving as President of Soroptimist Downtown Redding Chapter.

Ray Ault – Office of Director – Associate REALTOR®

With the help of my fellow association members, we have one of the best associations in all of California.  I wish to continue my contribution by moving on to Director after two terms as Treasurer/Secretary.  I have a good working knowledge of the association's finances and the issues we continue to face in our community.  I believe that I can continue to do a good job by applying the knowledge I have gained as treasurer and working for the membership as Director.

Glenda Grant – Office of Director – Associate REALTOR®

Glenda Grant has been a member of the Shasta Association of REALTORS since 2012. Glenda

is an active agent with Coldwell Banker C&C Properties. She has been in the YPN Committee (Young Professional Network) for 4 years and held the Chair position for 2 years - she actively leads others to get involved and give back to the community. She is actively promoting new agents within the industry. In 2014 Glenda was awarded the Special Recognition Award for Professional Performance and Furtherance of the Shasta Association of REALTORS, Young Professionals Network and Outstanding Performance, Participation, Support and Growth of the Real Estate Community in 2014.

Glenda is also active within the community having completed the Leadership Redding program and now serving her 3rd year on the leadership steering committee promoting community members to get involved and continue to improve Redding as a community. She volunteers for Catalyst Kids group as well as other community groups.  Glenda lives in Redding with her 7 year old daughter and volunteers in her classroom at Grant School.  She looks forward to being a voice for the members and appreciates your vote for Board of Director.

Chrissy Grotting – Office of Director – Associate REALTOR®

I am an Enterprise High School graduate. I have my Associate’s degree from BYU Idaho. In 2000 I began working with my parent’s at Re/Max. I was my dad’s escrow coordinator for about a year and half. I got my real estate license in 2001. In the 15 years since I have had my license I have served on the grievance committee and was also the chair of the grievance committee. I have had the opportunity to be on the board of director’s for the Board of Realtor’s for the past 3 years. It has been a great learning experience being able to serve as one of the director’s and I would love to have the opportunity to continue doing so.

Jean Hall - Office of Director - Associate REALTOR® 

I joined the Shasta Association of REALTORS in 1978. I have served as President and Treasurer of our Association, chaired and served as a member on many of our Association Committees. This Year I am the Chairperson of the Legislative Committee. As the Chairperson of the Legislative committee I try to keep current with the legislative issues that impact our industry and invite local & state leaders to speak at the meetings on current issues affecting our community and industry. I attend the Redding City Council meetings, City of Redding safety meetings & meetings concerning homeless situation. I try to share changes and issues that will impact our industry and our community with my fellow members of the Association.

I have served as past Regional Chair for District 2. For several years I was appointed by C.A.R. to serve    as Director-at-Large for our Association, and in 2015 I served on the C.A.R. Land Use and Environmental committee as subdivision development Issue Chair.

Additionally, I served two years on the Shasta County Grand Jury, one as chairperson, which was a wonderful learning experience.

I hold the GRI and CRS designations.

The Real estate industry is very interesting, challenging, ever changing and never dull.

I would appreciate your vote for 2017 Director as I would like to continue to be a voice for our members on our Board of Directors.

Sharon Lassiter - Office of Director - Associate REALTOR®

Moved to Redding in 1972 with my family.  We opened our first business, Redding Equipment in that year and sold it in 1981.  I opened Sharon's Office Supply and Furniture that same year.  Raising 3 boys and operating a business for 30 years have given me the understanding of management, sales, service, and finances.  Sold the business in 2006.  Took two very busy semesters at Shasta College under the care of Sharon Green and decided Coldwell Banker would be where I would start my career as a Realtor.  I've always been involved in my community on different boards, committee's and volunteering thru the years.  During the 10 years as a Realtor, I've been on the Finance Committee and Grievance Committee.  I enjoy working with people and I love Redding, CA.

Kim Lozano – Office of Director – Designated REALTOR®

I am the Designated Realtor/Broker/Owner of U Save Real Estate. I have been a member of the Shasta Association of Realtors since 2002. I love working as a Realtor and helping people achieve their dreams. 

I have served on the Grievance committee for 2 years.  I would like to continue volunteering to serve our board as a director this next year.

This community means a lot to me. I moved around in my life but chose to settle back home here in Redding.  I was born in Redding in 1958.  All my children, most grandchildren and great grandchildren were born here.  My grandparents moved out here so my grandfather could work on the Shasta Dam and then he went to work in the lumber industry.  My mom went to Shasta High School and so did I.

I would be honored to participate on our board of directors.

Denise McDonald – Office of Director – Associate REALTOR®

Hope you will vote!  I would love to be on the Shasta County Association board of directors.  I have been a real estate agent for years!  Too many to mention :).  I am going to be at the meetings, express my opinion, and try to make a difference.  Always easy to talk to, if I am on the board don't hesitate getting a hold of me with your questions and concerns.


Troy Miller – Office of Director – Associate REALTOR® 

After living in various areas throughout California, I settled in Redding in 1990 after being drawn in by the beautiful lakes, mountains, and everything in between.  I started as a general laborer at Home Base, but worked my way up to a manager position at Home Depot, where I worked for 16 years.  After seeing the connections I was building in the community, I decided to pursue Real Estate in 2007 to have an even greater chance to pursue them and make an impact on this town.  Since then, I have been on the Grievance Committee, the Professional Standards Committee, and the Scholarship Committee, where I have just concluded my first year as Chairman of Scholarship.  Meanwhile, I have been raising my four beautiful children here, who have all started to pursue degrees and families of their own.

I was born in the tiny mountain community of Burney, CA

Attended grammar school and high school in Anderson, CA

Attended one semester at Shasta College.

Youth football coach for the then Anderson-Cottonwood Wildcats from 1980 to 1985.

Obtained my Real Estate license in Sept. 1988.
